After-care Instructions:
✔ Keep it clean – Gently clean your piercing twice a day with a saline solution or mild antiseptic recommended for piercings. Avoid using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, as they can be too harsh.
✔ Avoid touching – Only touch your piercing with clean hands to prevent introducing bacteria.
✔ Be mindful of clothing and hair – Avoid snagging your piercing on clothes, hair, or bedding, as this can cause irritation and prolong healing.
✔ Stick with the original jewelry – Keep your starter jewelry in place until your piercing is fully healed to prevent closure or infection.
✔ Be cautious with water exposure – Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, and lakes during the initial healing period to prevent exposure to bacteria.
Healing Times by Piercing Type
- Earlobe Piercing – 6 to 8 weeks
- Cartilage Piercing (Helix, Tragus, etc.) – 4 to 12 months
- Nose Piercing – 3 to 6 months
Healing times may vary based on individual factors and how well the piercing is cared for.
What to Do If Your Piercing Becomes Swollen
Mild swelling and redness are normal in the first few days after a piercing. However, if swelling persists after a few weeks and is not going down, we recommend:
- Switching to real 14k-22k gold jewelry, preferably a hoop, to allow proper airflow for drying and healing. (We offer real gold hoops available for purchase.)
- Avoiding tight-fitting jewelry, as it can put pressure on the piercing and slow the healing process.
- Continuing with proper cleaning and aftercare to reduce irritation and promote healing.
If you experience excessive pain, pus, or severe redness, consult a professional piercer or a healthcare provider.
